Grant McCann has been named manager of the month for April in Sky Bet League Two.
Rovers were unbeaten throughout the month, winning six and drawing one as they climbed from 15th to fifth in the table to secure a play-off place.
McCann emphasised the award was earned with a collective effort by staff and players.
He said: "This award is testament to the work of all the staff, the players and everyone at the club. Everyone should be proud of their efforts throughout the entire season.”
McCann saw off competition from Bradford City manager Graham Alexander, Dave Challinor of Stockport County and Wrexham’s Phil Parkinson.
Former Sheffield Wednesday and Barnsley manager Danny Wilson chaired the judging panel. He said:“What a way to end a season with a return of 19 points from a possible 21 to catapult themselves into the play off places after a very turbulent few months at the start of the season.
“Grant has done a fabulous job of keeping the belief and performances high throughout the tough times and it’s paid dividends in the long term.”
Sky Bet EFL trader Ivor Davies said: “The sequence of results included them equalling a club record of ten straight victories and saw them go from 100/1 outsiders going into April into the current price of 9/4 second favourites for the playoffs, an impressive turnaround in form to say the least.”
